It offers a splendid chance to explore how the Islay distillery’s unique style develops over periods of long ageing, and this single malt spent its years maturing in a selection of American oak barrels and European sherry hogsheads and butts.
Tasting Note by The Producer
NoseFruity and sweet initially with very distinctive top notes of zesty orange and lemon peel, vanilla custard and treacle toffee.
PalateMore delicate background notes are revealed such as bergamot, sweet pastries and fresh thyme along with white pepper on the palate.
FinishThis is finally followed by a smouldering peat smoke and sooty campfire notes.
